Chinese panel maker Jetion Solar announced that the new HJT plant will start operations in August at the opening ceremony.

On 27 Jan, Jetion Solar, the solar arm of China National Building Materials (CNBM), hosted the opening ceremony for phase I HJT manufacturing base in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province.

Jetion Solar General Manager Jie Sun and the city officials laid the cornerstone for the beginning of the project together.

Jetion Solar will invest more than RMB 5 billion ($727 million) in the factory. In the first phase of the project, over 260 million USD were invested in the construction of a 80,000 ㎡production plant, including office blocks, HJT cell manufacturing workshops, R&D buildings, etc. The main structure of the plant is scheduled to be completed in April this year and put into operation in August, which will allow Jetion Solar to reach 4GW production capacity of solar cell. At the same time, it’s expected to add an annual sales revenue of over 2 billion yuan.

At the forefront of of high-efficiency photovoltaic cell, HJT not only offering superior combination of high efficiency and low cost in the c-Si field today, it marks also a "step change" in the evolution of crystalline silicon-based cell technology. One undeniable advantage of HJT is its low temperature coefficient of -0.23% to -0.3%, top among PV technologies using crystalline silicon wafer substrates.

Up to now, Jetion Solar has accumulated more than 200 patents for technology and inventions, of which over 30 patents involved in the field of HJT cells, laying a solid foundation for the company's continuous technological innovation and healthy development.
